Besides we can still use that same land for crops with agrivoltaics
Again, our proposal isn’t that we should cover all of this land in solar panels, or that it could easily power the world on its own. We don’t account for the fact that we’d need energy storage and other options to make sure that power is available where and when it’s needed (not just when the sun is shining).
This is a thought experiment more than a plan.
I don’t think anyone took it as a suggestion. Even if we could produce that many panels, the mining and industry would probably make it a net environmental negative.
You’d be surprised how many people don’t take the time to read a long article like that but will have a quick glance at the comments.
In fact i often enjoy reading the comments more than the article.
Also apparently the vast majority of corn grown is for ethanol, and it takes thousands of gallons of water for every gallon of corn ethanol produced.
Yup. Corn production in the US uses 8 times more water annually than all AI data centers on the entire planet.
With more government subsidies.
According to my own research on Facebook, AI gets 32% of all tax dollars because microchips bill gates essential oils.
Or something, I forget but it seemed compelling at the time so it has to be true. and did I mention it was THE Facebook that told me. You know that Zuckerberg is so smart with his Data-lookin’ self, once he gets his plane fixed (I’m loaning him some money and you know he’ll get me back because he’s rich).
I suspect this is if everyone is charging when the sun is out.
How many bananas to a Poland?
Four, at the very least.
I didn’t know Poland liked corn that much, TIL
Polska gurom. /s
But weird choice, who knows where Poland is?Anyone with some kind education does.
I’ve played enough EU4 that I know exactly where it is. 🤣
